On the 9th and 10th of October we exhibited at Bring it On 2019, an event which aims to inspire and encourage children to explore a career in STEM subjects.
We were delighted to be back at Bring It On for the second year in a row. The event is designed to showcase how science, technology and engineering are used to help solve real-world problems. Demonstrating how our business is used to help safeguard water for everyone, every day; we were able to show hundreds of children how chemistry is used to ensure water safety.
The interactive event allowed us to showcase the different methods we use to measure water samples. Hundreds of children got involved and performed tests on water samples to determine the pH level. Children used visual tests to colour match their test results, and then went on to perform a digital test. We were able to show them how colour changing chemistry is used for water testing. On each day team members from both commercial and technical roles came along giving the children access to a wealth of knowledge.
For the digital testing students used a Photometer 7500, our top of the range photometer which covers all major water quality parameters. The photometer has been designed for simplicity and is suitable for all users.
We had a great two days exhibiting alongside a number of other North East businesses; encouraging children to get involved and inspiring them about the many possibilities a career in a STEM subject can offer. Our latest Halma campaign is one that is very close to our hearts at Palintest. Joining forces with WaterAid, the Water for Life campaign which spans over two years aims to help tackle the global issue of water accessibility and quality.
