New and improved method for Total Coliforms and E. coli testing

Already recognised as the simplest Presence/Absence test available for Total Coliforms and E. coli, the Colitag™ range is now strengthened with a new Most Probable Number format for quantification of microbiological water quality.
Detecting the presence of Total Coliforms (TC) is critical for compliance with microbiological drinking water quality standards. The presence of a single colony forming unit in 100mL of sample is categorised as a failure to meet the requirements of the World Health Organization Guidelines for Drinking Water. In other sample types such as bathing/recreational waters or produce wash waters, the presence of TC and E. coli (EC) is expected and quantification of colony forming units (CFU) is critical for classification and processing decision.Simplifying the quantification of TC and EC in both the laboratory and the field, the new MPNplate™1600 from CPI International takes Colitag™ from the simplest, most flexible Presence/Absence test to the simplest quantifiable test. The MPNplate™ approach offers:

  • Simple three-step testing for quantifying Total Coliforms and E. coli contamination in a range of samples with performance equivalent to Membrane Filtration
  • Flexible incubation window to match your workflow, including the fastest USEPA-approved approach
  • Clear and reliable results across the 0 – 1600 CFU/100mL range with outstanding results for false-negatives and false-positives
