As a part of Halma plc, we are proud to participate in group wide campaigns. Previously we have participated in the Gift of Sight campaign where all Halmp plc companies worked together to raise money to improve eye health.
This campaign saw our own Sensor Development Manager Samantha Lunn visit and assist with a cataract surgery clinic in Ghana. As part of this campaign, all Halma employees were given access to sight tests and advice on how to look after their own sight.
Our latest Halma campaign is one that is very close to our hearts at Palintest. Joining forces with WaterAid, the Water for Life campaign which spans over two years aims to help tackle the global issue of water accessibility and quality. As part of the campaign Halma plc have committed to donating a minimum of £200,000 from funds raised across the company wide initiative. All monies raised will fund a project which aims to improve access to clean water for 8,000 people in Bihar state in North-Eastern India.
As with previous campaigns fundraising activities are in full swing with employees across all Halma companies undertaking gruelling sporting challenges, baking fabulous sweet treats, holding fun quizzes and many more great activities.
Along with contributions from other water analysis, treatment and monitoring companies within the Halma group, Palintest is supplying water analysis laboratories from our Wagtech range to the project. With them being used to evaluate drinking water sources and detect pathogens (including bacteria and arsenic, which is particularly prevalent in the area). Once these assessments are made, the Wateraid team can decide how best to treat and deliver water that is safe for drinking, cooking and washing.
All Halma companies and employees are also undertaking projects with the aim of reducing the impact of their own water usage to help reduce our climate impact as a global business.
We look forward to sharing our progress as we contribute to the Water for Life campaign and if you, like us are passionate about water safety you can donate to the Water For Life campaign by clicking here .
