At Palintest, we’re dedicated to innovation not only in our products but also in our commitment to environmental responsibility. We are excited to announce that we have taken a significant step towards reducing plastic waste by transitioning to plastic-free packaging solutions for our products. With the implementation of wet glue paper tape dispensing machines and other eco-friendly changes, we are proud to be 100% plastic-free on our shipping cartons.
One of the major changes we’ve made is the adoption of wet glue paper tape dispensing machines. These machines apply paper tape with a reinforced weave, providing both strength and security. This reinforced paper tape not only replaces the plastic tape that we previously used, but also eliminates the need for black plastic strapping that was used to secure cartons. The reinforced paper tape is so robust that it not only ensures cartons remain sealed during transit but also tears the carton if anyone attempts to remove the tape, providing an additional layer of security. We have also made changes to our shipping document holders.
In the past, plastic document holders were used to store shipping documents. However, we have now switched to paper document holders that are fixed to the outside of cartons. This change not only aligns with our plastic-free initiative but also ensures that every aspect of our packaging is environmentally conscious.
These changes, combined with the recycled, shredded cardboard we already use for cushioning and filling voids in cartons, represent a significant leap in our sustainability efforts. We’re proud to offer packaging that is not only effective and secure but also in harmony with the environment.
We’re also excited to announce that Palintest liquid reagent boxes will now be supplied in cardboard packaging, replacing the previous polystyrene boxes.
Over the past year, we’ve conducted extensive testing to ensure this new packaging meets our high standards for durability and protection, while aligning with our sustainability goals. We’re confident that it will continue to deliver your products safely—now in a more eco-friendly format.
Our journey towards sustainability doesn’t end here. We are actively exploring ways to further reduce our environmental impact. The next challenges on our agenda include addressing the plastic shrink wrap used on pallets (already containing 30% recycled plastic) and finding alternatives to bubble wrap for protecting kits.
At Palintest, we believe that every step, no matter how small, contributes to a greener future. By eliminating plastic from our packaging, we demonstrate our dedication to both quality and sustainability. We thank you, our customers, for your continued support as we work towards a world with less plastic waste and a healthier planet for all.
