Photometric test for Urea in swimming pool and spa water

Set water bath to 100°C and allow it to reach temperature.

Add 10 mL of sample to a clean tube. Note: this test uses a 16 mm diameter tube.

Use this to "blank" the instrument. Fit the Tubetest adapter to Lumiso, insert tube and press Blank.

To an empty 16 mm tube, add 5 mL of sample.

Top up to the 10 mL line with Urea Liquid Reagent.

Invert tube gently to mix. Do not shake.

Add a Urea No1 tablet and a Urea No2 tablet. Crush both tablets until fully dissolved.

Invert tube gently to mix. Do not shake.

Place in water bath and leave for exactly 30 minutes at 100⁰C.

Carefully remove and dry tube.

Without delay, place tube in cell holder and press Measure to obtain the concentration of Urea.
